Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi everyone! My name is Nicholas, but you can call me Nick. I am around 4-5 years old but you can’t tell by looking at me because I have a beautiful copper coat with almost no gray on my black muzzle. I came into the BARC program through a partner shelter in Pensacola. I was surrendered to the shelter because my former family decided that after all of these years me and my female boxer companion (Pasha, also in BARC) drew to many flies. I had to be separated from Pasha in order for both us to be saved. I also had an injury to one of my back legs that was never taken care of so it has a little crick in it but it doesn’t affect me one bit.
I am now being fostered by Eric & Kim in Gainesville area and even though I lost Pasha, I have gained 3 other foster sisters. Casey a boxer like me and 2 chihuahua’s that think they are big like us. I would really like to play with my foster sisters but unfortunately my previous owners did not keep me on heartworm prevention so I have to go through heartworm treatment and I am unable to be active. But that isn’t a bad thing because I am very laid back and love sleeping on the couch, floor, crate, on the front porch swing, car, wherever. Don’t think because I like sleeping I can’t be active, I can but my foster parents won’t let me until I finish my treatment but I do have a great “boxer wiggle” and my little nubby tail goes a mile a minute.
I get along with my foster sisters and love meeting new people. I am crate trained, housebroken and neutered. I really enjoy getting attention and don’t mind being petted for long periods of time, matter of fact if I don’t think you’re done petting me l will keep giving you my big brown “puppy dog” eyes stare and give you a little nudge. I walk very well on the leash and know sit, down and almost got the shake thing down. If you can wait until September when my treatment finishes up to adopt me go ahead and fill out an application. I promise to love you for the rest of my life. Oh I almost forgot to mention I am a lap dog so hopefully you won’t mind that but I will be more than happy to lay next to you on the couch.
