My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wow! Talk about irresistible...meet Lu!! This little cutie is happy, sweet, and oh-so-bright...and at just 10 months old, is still just a pup! Little wavy-coated Lu is a BC with maybe a little Aussie in there. She was found as a stray and ended up in an overcrowded Idaho shelter, so we know nothing about her past.

Since rolling into foster care, Lu has proven to be a wonderful girl! She's lively and friendly and silly, all wrapped up in an adorable package. From her winning grin right down to her white-tipped toes, Lu is just too dang cute. She loves people of all ages/sizes and other dogs, and is especially partial to a good game of chase! Mid-game she will duck under a chair and thinks that no one "sees" her. Ha! She is proving to be herdy with other dogs, and is discovering just how much fun toys can be - especially if you can sneak in, steal one from your foster brother, and get him to chase you! She is still ALL puppy, with bursts of energy followed by long lazy naps. She's quite energetic and we think she will shape up to be a moderate energy girl, up to any adventure or task you can think of! She has also developed quite the “off switch”, and after a round of play/training, is content to quietly lie at your feet playing with a toy while you watch a good movie. She also loves, loves, loves the water and will happily frolic in it no matter the size – puddles, kiddie pools, they’re all a potential aqua-party for Miss Lulu!

Although it is apparent Lu was not taught much in the way of basic manners, she scores an A+++++ in the brains department. This little girlie is as smart as they come - she learned to navigate the dog door in about 0.2 seconds - and is so food motivated there's no limit to what she can learn. In just a few weeks she has learned sit, down, off, go get it, and polite greetings. She also has a stellar recall! She crates great, feels safe there and is really relaxed in a crate - and is housetrained, too. Lulu is also very comfortable in cars - so comfortable, in fact, that if any car window is open (your own or your guest's) Lu is more than happy to jump right in and wait for a ride! She also walks nicely on a leash, although is still in the process of learning that she does not need to "help" by carrying it in her mouth. Lu’s one ‘vice’ is that she will jump a 4’ fence if it looks like there’s more fun happening on the other side of it, so a 6’ fenced yard will be a must for this girlie.

It is clear Lu is just a delightful pup who is sure to be a blessing to whoever is lucky enough to take her home. She will do best with an active family, or a family with another playful canine, who have the time and energy to give her the exercise and additional training she needs, and who will shower her cute little nose with kisses everyday!

Lu is spayed, fully vetted and living in a loving foster home near Castle Rock, CO.
