About Save-A-Life Cat Adoptions

About Our Shelter...

We have over three hundred cats and kittens year-round!! Come visit us at our adoption locations!

Since 1995, Save-A-Life Cat Adoptions has been about making dreams come true--often when even a last glimmer of hope has faded. We've provided shelter and caring, loving homes for thousands of fabulous felines since we rescued that first litter so many years ago. We NEVER KILL the cats we take in. Save-A-Life (S-A-L) cats and kittens romp and play at our wonderful new sanctuary north of Los Angeles until they are adopted--no matter how long it takes! Could YOU be the next lucky human to be owned by a S-A-L kitty?

Our Adoption Process...

If you are interested in one (or more)of our fabulous felines, you may fill out an adoption screening form.

Upon approval of the screening form by a Save-A-Life Adoption Counselor, you just pick your dream cat or kitten, agree to and sign our S-A-L adoption contract, then your Adoption Counselor will give you a mini cat care and feeding course. Any necessary treatments/vaccinations will be administered to the cat, and kitty's claws will be trimmed.

How much does it cost, and what do you get?

Adoption fees start at $55.00 for adults and $75.00 for kittens (under one year old). Fees for special breeds, types and colors are higher (fees for these more popular cats help support the plainer varieties that often get overlooked for adoption).
Our pricing is extremely competitive if you check with other agencies and organizations.

You receive a cat that has been:

--Given appropriate vaccinations
--Sterilized if over 4 months of age
--Treated for any known medical condition

You also receive:

A free vet exam at one of several locations (our health guarantee program), any necessary follow-up medications/shots (as indicated on your contract), cat care literature, free cat care counseling at any time, and the Save-A-Life promise: if the adoption is not "made in heaven" for any reason or at any time, we will take the S-A-L cat back.
