CHARLOTTE's Story...
Charlotte and her littermates had a rough beginning. They were discovered in a ditch in January of 2004 by a kind person who brought them indoors before they died from exposure. They arrived at Tuxedo Junction alive, but very frightened and feral. Charlotte has lived in our shelter for over a year and watched her littermates and many of her feline friends find wonderful homes. Charlotte has made great progress since her arrival, and has turned into a friendly, talkative, loving cat. But because she is not a tiny playful kitten she always overlooked, although she is sweet and snuggly once she gets to know you.

Because of Charlotte's feral beginnings she must be adopted into a quiet home with no children or active dogs, and plenty of love and patience. She would dearly love to be adopted with one of her buddies at Tuxedo Junction Rescue.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

CHARLOTTE, a AUSTIN Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in AUSTIN, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in AUSTIN.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in AUSTIN already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a AUSTIN breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in AUSTIN paves the way for another one to be saved.
