Leon's Story...
Comments from the kennel staff: "Leon is a really nice, well natured boy. He gets along will with the other hounds as well as small dogs and cats. He's been very attentive to us, and tries hard to please. He has recently been placed in a foster home, so we'll have more details on him as soon as he's settled in." ***UPDATE 9-29-08*** Comments from the Foster Home: "LEON!!! He's SUCH a good boy!He has gotten pretty laid back now that he's settled in. He loves to romp and play in the back yard with our other hound, and gets along well with our Italian greyhound. He LOVES chew toys and stuffies, and should have them to play with. He gets along well with our neighbors kids and our niece as well. While he is crate friendly, he gets along well just hanging out in the living room with the other dogs. He's really just an over all great dog-and he loves to cuddle as well!"

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Leon, a St Petersburg Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Greyhound for sale in St Petersburg, or seeking a Greyhound dog from a breeder in St Petersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St Petersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St Petersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Greyhound breeders who help with Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St Petersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
