Cathy's Story...
Hey everybody, I’m a cutie named Cathy. I’m named after a popular comic strip character who obsesses over being overweight, being single in a “coupled world,” and being alone on Valentine’s Day. I can certainly sympathize with her, as I’ve spent a few holidays alone myself and I, too, am a single gal in a “coupled world.” See, I was picked up as a stray and taken to the county pound. But when nobody showed up to claim me, I was placed on their PTS list. Cathy, the comic strip character, says that her life is centered around four basic guilt groups—food, love, mom, and career. Well, my life is centered around four basic need groups—food, love, family, and fun. I’m an active and playful gal and I’d make an excellent addition to an active and fun-loving family. However, sometimes when I’m playing, I get over stimulated and I get a bit jumpy and mouthy, so I might not be appropriate in a home with small children. I have a personal trainer here at FOHA, and she’s been helping me learn to develop a soft mouth and not to jump on people when I get excited. I’m sure I’ll get the hang of things in no time. I’m sweet and friendly and I enjoy the company of people and even other dogs. I also enjoy riding in the car and I’d be delighted to escort you practically anywhere. And maybe one day you’ll be delighted to escort me someplace—like into your home. See, I’ve decided that being single is not for me and I’d like to be part of a family—one that consists of you and me. (Please note: I can only be adopted to a home in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. There will be NO exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cathy, a Aldie American Staffordshire Terrier/Plott Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier/Plott Hound for sale in Aldie, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier/Plott Hound dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier/Plott Hound breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier/Plott Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
