Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Snoopy is a 1 1/2 year old, beautiful black & rust, natural eared boy. Like his namesake, he was left to live outdoors (his task, to 'guard' a lot in DC)...beause of inadequate shelter (in the freezing winter months no less), Animal Control took custody of this sweet boy. Despite his rough start on life, Snoopy is still the sweetest boy. He has been friendly and given kisses to everyone he meets. He's adjusting to his new foster home, but at the moment seems much more interested in people than the other dogs he's met. He seemed interested when shown a cat, sniffing and even wagged his nub (no barking), so he might work in a household with cats. Because he's been an outdoor dog, he may need some work on housetraining...but so far no accidents or marking in his foster home. Snoopy doesn't really know his name, nor does he have any training. He's very food motivated and loves being with people, so I think he'll be quick to learn when he goes to obedience class. When excited, he tends to jump up on people and gets a little mouthy on your hands looking for treats (doesn't bite down, just puts his mouth all over your hands)...because of this, Snoopy needs a home with either no children or older children. Snoopy does not like other animals near his food at mealtime, but doesn't seem to mind people near his food. DAR&E only places within the Maryland, DC, West Virginia and Virginia area. Please do no apply to adopt if you live outside of those areas. Please visit our website (www.dobe.net) for additional information on adopting one of our DAR&E Dobermans & an online application!
