Maddie's Story...
Hi my name is Maddie. I was first found wandering a neighborhood on the Southside of town. Animal care and control picked me up and a family adopted me. I lived with them for several months but they decided that they did not want me anymore. I'm not quite sure what I did. They just dropped me back off at Animal Care and Control to be "destroyed". But lucky for me these nice people saved me a second time from that place and they took me to their shelter. I am now staying in a home with a foster family but I would really like a family of my own. I am about 3 1/2 yrs old and I only weigh about 40 pounds. I’m a very sweet girl, already house trained, and crate trained. I'm very outgoing and I have energy to play. I do enjoy special snuggle time also please.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maddie, a Jacksonville Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
