Lady's Story...
Lady is a REAL LADY. I met her for the first time today when I picked her up from Robinson's Rescue for the Natchitoches Humane Society. You know what that means. She sat in the front seat next to me and was absolutely the most gentle, well mannered little girl I've ever been with. She'd look up at me with her great big brown eyes and I could hardly pay attention to my driving.
She is a rescue girl and has been living in a foster home. After her little snip snip surgery I delivered her to the Happy TAILS facility at the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Detention Center. Don't worry, she'll be fine there. They have 2 wonderful inmates that have earned the priviledge of caring for the happy TAILS animals. She will get a lot of TLC for the next week while she is on the mend. Then she'll get some more TLC just because she's in a great facility but......she sure would like a real home with a family... And from what I noticed about her today, she'd even like living with just one person. She was so easy to handle and a great passenger. She will be walking with her caregiver everyday so she will soon be leash trained. She's been spayed, has all her shots and Rabies. Lady is a young female, black mixed breed. She weighs 21lbs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lady, a Haughton Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Haughton, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Haughton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Haughton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Haughton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Haughton paves the way for another one to be saved.
