Sugar's Story...
I’m a cute girl named Sugar, and like my name implies I’m characteristically sweet. I’m told that sugar is a substance that occurs naturally in fruits and vegetables. Well, it also occurs naturally in me. So how did a sugary sweet girl like me end up homeless? Well, I was picked up as a stray in a rural area of Virginia and taken to the county pound. It was obvious that I’d been on my own for quite a while because I was seriously malnourished. And despite this ordeal, my sweet nature still came shining through. I’m not artificially sweet, you see, I’m the real deal. I’m a cute girl with short, tri-color fur. I look like a mini Bluetick Coonhound. But at just 35 pounds, I’m still a bit underweight, so the folks at FOHA are doing their best to fatten me up. I’m getting lots of good food to eat now and plenty of yummy treats. I’m an affectionate girl and I enjoy spending time with people and other dogs, too. I also enjoy riding in the car and I was a well-behaved and refined passenger. I’m a sweet girl and I’d love to have a sugar daddy (or momma) to take care of me. So, if you have a craving for a sugar-coated companion, then I’d the perfect companion for you. (Please Note: I can only be adopted in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. There will be NO exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sugar, a Aldie Bluetick Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bluetick Coonhound for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Bluetick Coonhound dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bluetick Coonhound breeders who help with Bluetick Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
