My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Charlie is Adopted

Charlie is currently fostered in Mentor OH and his adoption fee/donation is $250

Charlie is a beautiful 4 yr old chocolate male cocker spaniel.
He came to us as an owner surrender from southern KY, due to his owner being unable to keep up with his vet care and chronic skin issues.
Charlie has struggled with skin allergies since he was very young.
His former owner had him seen by a veterinary dermatologist, and did what he could for him, but the physical requirements of twice weekly medicated baths, and the cost was too much for him.

Charlie has been with us for about 3 weeks now, and his foster is doing a strict holistic diet, and the medicated baths, and he was seen by our vet for consult on his skin.
Charlie lived with chickens down in KY, and our vet said he could have been allergic to something in his environment.
The south has many different irritants that we don’t see up here in northeast Ohio.

We are basically doing a holistic approach and watching to see if just the move to a different environment and state can make a big difference.
It may or may not, so any potential adopter will need to be prepared to continue with possible chronic skin with this boy.

Now for the best part, let’s talk about Charlie and his disposition.
Well he is an absolute GEM, a well behaved, mild mannered boy that will just love you to death!!
He is good with other dogs, children, and cats. He is housetrained, and doesn’t have accidents in his foster home.
He weighs 32 lbs, and is a good weight for his breed and build.
Charlie is a LOVE, although he does need work with walking on a leash, he is strong and does pull a lot.
He probably not be a good fit for someone older that may be a bit frail. He needs a strong person that can handle him.

Charlie is neutered, up to date on vaccines and is heartworm negative.
