Lucky's Story...
Hi! My name is Lucky and I'm one lucky little guy. I was picked up as a skinny little stry in Louisburg and sent to a shelter which holds cats for only seven days. On day 7, the people from PAWS and HAHS rescued me. I went right into a foster home for some good food and medicine. I'm a big booy now and ready for my forever home. I'm very cuddly, well behaved, love to play with toys and get along great with the other cats and kittens in my foster home. My foster mom says she's the lucky one, having me in her home. Looking for a little purr box? Check me out!

As HAHS now has several adoption locations, please contact Beth at 913.648.6713 to find out when and where you can meet LUCKY!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucky, a Overland Park Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
