Sweetie's Story...
Sweetie is a 3-year-old tortie who is so adorably sweet, the shelter staff worked very hard to save her when her time was up. Sweetie is rather scared of other cats so would be most outgoing in a home where she's the only pet. She's very ladylike and loves to be petted, brushed and held. She loves a big, soft dog bed -- or of course, YOUR bed! With your love, a soft bed and a window to look out, she will be in heaven. Sweetie's right ear is flat to her head from a past burst blood vessel, but the vet says the ear causes her no trouble at all. That little flat ear does add to her cuteness, however! Also, she has become BFFs with Nelly, so we are trying to place these girls together.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sweetie, a Petersburg Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Petersburg, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Petersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Petersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Petersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Petersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
