Roxie's Story...
Hey, everybody, it’s me, Roxie. I’m a beautiful little black and white cat who’s been waiting what seems like FOREVER to find a home. You see, I was rescued back in 2008 and taken to a local vet’s office, Caring Hands Animal Hospital in Centreville. I had an unknown injury which could have been an animal bite, so I had to be in quarantine for six l-o-n-g months! Fortunately, the folks at Caring Hands are good friends with the folks at FOHA, who identified a foster home where I could stay for my quarantine period. Then I was adopted! However, it turned out not to be the ideal home for me. So I'm looking for a new home to call my own. I’m such a sweetheart – I’m sure you’ll just adore me. I like to play, I’m quite a talker, and I’m an expert snuggler. I’ll let you carry me around in your arms like a baby. Sometimes I’ll gently take one of my front paws and pet you on your face while you’re holding me. It’s quite adorable, I’m told. So while I’ve unpacked my toys here at the FOHA communal cattery once more, I hope my stay is short. If you have other kitties, it’s important for you to know that I’m submissive and I’ve been picked on by some other, more dominant cats. Therefore, I can get scared and intimidated. I’d do best in a home as an only cat or with another submissive cat like me. Hopefully my favorite toys and me will be headed to an adoptive home very soon – how about with you?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Roxie, a Aldie Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
