Blossom's Story...
I’m a shy girl named Blossom. I’m a bit of a wallflower around new people, but my personality really “Blossoms” when I’m around other dogs. So, if you’re looking for a companion for your current dog, I’m your girl. My shyness stems from the fact that I belonged to an animal hoarder. My owner had over 100 animals, so I just got lost in the crowd. Because I was one of many animals, I didn’t get the human attention that I needed, so when I arrived at FOHA I was afraid of people and I didn’t know how to walk on leash. I’ve spent some time in a foster home, and I’ve learned that people aren’t so scary after all. I walk nicely on a leash now and I love to go for walks or visit the dog park. If you take out my leash, I get excited and I wag my tail in circles. After my walk, I like to find a quiet corner in the house to cuddle up in, so sometimes you might forget I’m even there. But if you call me, I’ll come up and give you kisses. I rarely bark, so I’d make a fine companion for someone who lives in an apartment, townhouse, or condo. I’m easy to take care of, but I need someone who understands that I’m uncomfortable in new places and shy around new people. I get along great with cats and other dogs, too, so I’d prefer a home where I can have a canine or feline companion. Do you have room in your home for a shy girl like me? APPLICATION PENDING!!! (Please Note: I can only be adopted in the DC Metropolitan area. There will be no exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Blossom, a Aldie Labrador Retriever/Shiba Inu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Shiba Inu for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Shiba Inu dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Shiba Inu breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Shiba Inu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
