Merle's Story...
So, you're looking for a dog today? Playful, yet mellow, friendly, loyal... Let's see - there's a pretty good chance that I am exactly the guy you're looking for. My name is Merle, and I am a 5 year old male yellow Lab. I'm enjoying life in rescue - a lot... but as wonderful as this is, I'm still looking for my forever home. I guess you could say I'm just ready to settle down. Nope, no fear of commitment here. And I promise you won't regret it. I am already housetrained. I know some basic commands, but I love to work with my people so if you wanted to teach me more or take me to training classes, we could have a blast together. I'd love to spend some time getting to enjoy the Colorado scenery with you, let's go for a hike or a long walk. I'm great with little kids and with other dogs. In fact, I'd probably love to have a canine sibling in the house to play with. I'd sure like the chance to get to meet you. Please apply today and ask about me, we could have so much fun together.

We require an application, phone interview and home visit prior to adoption. We will not discuss a specific dog with an applicant until the adoption process is completed. Our adoption fee for dogs under 9 months is $250, dogs between 9 months and 8 years is $195 and our super seniors are $175. Please visit our website for more information. Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Merle, a Evergreen Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Evergreen, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Evergreen.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Evergreen already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Evergreen breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Evergreen paves the way for another one to be saved.
