Tess's Story...
The eyes of Tessa are upon you
All the live long day

Our eyes were on Tessa (aka Tess) and she couldn't escape us because we were determined to not let her get away. Here is her story. Several weeks ago, we got a call about a cocker spaniel who was running loose in a neighborhood because her owners had abandoned their house and left her in the yard along with several other dogs. We were told that she had escaped but the other dogs had died from the lack of food and water. Tess was running scared and nobody could catch her. Several volunteers with Cocker Spaniel Rescue were able to use food to lure her into a trap and caught her. She was basically feral for the first week and hid in the closet but with a little food and a lot of love, this little yellow rose has really blossomed. She is learning to trust everyone and loves tummy rubs and giving kisses. This gorgeous little sweetheart has a fabulous low maintenance coat and won't require much grooming.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tess, a Sugarland Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in Sugarland, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Sugarland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sugarland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sugarland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sugarland paves the way for another one to be saved.
