Simba's Story...
Simba came into the shelter with five other cats when their owner moved away. She’s used to other cat, and so is a good candidate for a multi-cat home. She was born and raised in her former owner’s home. She is a young cat with many years of being someone’s special forever friend ahead of her. In her former home, where she knew the ropes and was one in a herd of kitties, Simba was described as a bug-chasing, talkative (oh my, yes), affectionate girl. Here, she tested out as a little wary in her new situation, but who can blame her? Eyes wide as she explored the cat assessment room, Simba warmed up as the testing proceeded. She talked a lot. In fact, she loves a good conversation, and with her cute face and sweet manner, it wouldn’t be surprising if her forever friends found themselves answering back to her out loud. Simba is an even-tempered, playful cat with a loving personality and a gentle way about her. Kids may be great companions for her, as will another take-it-as-it-comes feline. Come by and have a chat with Simba and consider all that she has to say just a prelude of great things to come.

Simba, a Westbrook Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Westbrook, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Westbrook.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Westbrook already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Westbrook breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Westbrook paves the way for another one to be saved.
