WILHELM's Story...
WILHELM. Good German name, but we call him Billy. Have you been looking for a Standard Dachshund? They are getting to be quite rare. But Billy is AKC, and you'll be impressed. He is exceptionally handsome -- a muscular fellow, ready to run and hike. He also has his sweet and loving side. He does have his breed's very strong prey drive, therefore, the requirement that there be no cats, or other small household pets or farm animals at your home, and that a doxie proof yard is a must. Jenell has been working with Billy for quite a while and he is ready for his forever home. You will need to be dachshund savvy, away from home less than 40 hours per week, and with no kids or grandkids on the premises. Billy was tortured as a puppy and Jenell has put heart and soul into rehabilitating him. His progress has been amazing and now it is time for him to move on to his own home. Can you appreciate this fine Standard Dachshund and continue to work with him? He has been taught to shake hands to break the ice because for such a big handsome guy, he has a tender side and is quite shy and still unsure. Our New Year's Wish is to find the perfect home for Billy where he will be loved and cherished. Call Jenell personally to chat about Billy at 503 313 3220 before you fill out the application online (www.odr-inc.org). . ==== His adoption fee is $295 and he'll be all up to date on his medical,. plus he'll go home with a basket of goodies, new collar and leash, custom made walking harness, blanket, toys and dog food.

About Our Rescue Group...
Oregon Dachshund Rescue Inc. is a 501 c3 non profit with 25 years experience of rescuing Dachshunds. My goal is to provide homes for unwanted, special needs and abandoned Dachshunds. I do not breed or sell Dachshunds for a profit. I receive into rescue 1 to 3 doxies PER DAY. Before adoption all of my rescues are spayed and neutered, made current on rabies, DHPP, bordetella, fecal and dental if needed. The rescues are also groomed, nails done and one month Advantage treatment. I take great pride in finding wonderful forever homes for my rescue Dachshunds. My criteria is very strict because I want to insure the safety and future of each one of these very special rescues. I do not give refunds of any kind for any reason but will offer an exchange for another Dachshund, if you choose. The dog's character, health and physical condition represented by this Rescue is in good faith. Why Adoption is a Great Option

WILHELM, a Portland Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Portland, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
