RAVEN's Story...
Raven is a 9 1/2 year old black female with natural ears who is back in rescue after many years in a loving home. Her original mom is getting a divorce and had to move back in with family, who won't let her keep the big dog. At 9 yrs old, Raven settled in well at her new foster home, back on a horse farm. She likes to grumble at the two younger dogs and give them the "what for" but they just steer clear of her and all is well. She seems to be very happy being back on a farm, sniffing about and even having a little slow run now and again. Raven's foster mom reports that Raven is very sweet, housetrained and a wonderful addition to the home. Raven came to MAGDRL in October 2009.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

RAVEN, a York Great Dane dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane for sale in York, or seeking a Great Dane dog from a breeder in York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane breeders who help with Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in York paves the way for another one to be saved.
