Macey's Story...
I’m a sweet girl named Macey. I belonged to an animal collector (that’s a person who acquires more animals than they can take care of). When I was seized by animal control, my owner had acquired over 100 dogs. Luckily, I made my way to FOHA, where I’ll get a chance to find a new home—one with a more reasonable number of animals. I’m affectionate and I enjoy spending time with people. I get so excited that I tend to jump up to greet folks, but I’m learning how to control my enthusiasm. I know some basic obedience commands such as “sit,” and “stay.” I’m still a youngster, so I exhibit a few puppy traits like mouthing as part of play. I also like to chew and will sometimes chew things left on the floor. But if you show me what I can and can’t chew and give me plenty of exercise as well as appropriate things to chew on (like plenty of rawhide bones and doggie chew toys), I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it in no time. Sometimes I’m a bit shy in new situations, but I warm up quickly. I enjoy taking naps and snuggling with people. Are you in need of some snuggling? Then, I’m your girl. APPLICATION PENDING!!! (Please Note: I can only be adopted in the DC Metropolitant area. There will be no exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Macey, a Aldie Labrador Retriever/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Beagle for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Beagle dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Beagle breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
