Murtie's Info...

I am already spayed, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Murtie's Story...
Murtie and her siblings are part of several litters from Dale City, coming from a family of cat-lovers who could not afford to continue caring for so many growing cats. She is a quiet, lovely brown tabby with striking "eyeshadow" markings under her eyes that set off their deep gold beautifully. Murtie loves human contact and will tuck herself in beside a person without making her presence known -- until she starts to purr, which she does often and loudly. She and all her siblings from Dale City are used to other cats of all ages, dogs and children! Click here to download an adoption application. Send it to meow@tailshigh.org and Kelley the adoption counselor will contact you promptly.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Murtie, a Alexandria American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Alexandria, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in Alexandria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Alexandria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Alexandria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Alexandria paves the way for another one to be saved.
