Nyx's Story...
Nyx and her siblings are part of several litters from Dale City, coming from a family of cat lovers who could not afford to continue caring for so many growing cats. Named after the Greek goddess of the night, Nyx is (unsurprisingly) almost entirely black but for a white stripe from her chin to her belly and white socks on each feet. She has a beautiful grecian profile and already radiates elegance at only seven months old, but she's not too dignified to snuggle up to people when she gets the chance. She and all her siblings from Dale City are used to other cats of all ages, dogs, and children! Click here to download an adoption application. Send it to meow@tailshigh.org and Kelley the adoption counselor will contact you promptly.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nyx, a Alexandria Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Alexandria, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Alexandria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Alexandria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Alexandria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Alexandria paves the way for another one to be saved.
