Roamer aka Romeo's Story...
Roamer is a Blue and Gold Macaw at the Lily Sanctuary with a hilarious personality but doesn't like men. He waves and covers his face with his foot on command. He's a drama king, very loud and says "butter?" whenever you give him treats! All birds adopted from The Lily Sanctuary must live within a 60 mile radius of Fountain Valley, California, meet with the bird at least 3 times there and agree a home check before the bird is adopted out. Please refer to our web site for the adoption application and complete adoption protocol.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Roamer aka Romeo, a Fountain Valley Macaw was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Macaw for sale in Fountain Valley, or seeking a Macaw from a breeder in Fountain Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fountain Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fountain Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Macaw breeders who help with Macaw rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fountain Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
