Sandy's Story...
Hi my name is Sandy and I’m a Shih Tzu boy. I was rescued from animal control to come live in a foster home with lots of dogs to play with each day. Living in a home is better for me and you so someone can tell you how I am when I live in a home with a family. I’m completely housebroken. I love to play with my human and snuggle when my human wants to read or watch TV. This home is really neat and has lots of soft toys for me to play with and carry around in my mouth. I also like to go for walks to get to know my neighbors. Remember when you walk me to have my leash on for MY safety. My foster Mom thinks I’m so cute and I have to agree with her. I’m up to date on all my shots and ready to travel to my new home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sandy, a Houston Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Houston, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
