My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I am Beatrice Francesca, although everyone calls me Beatrice or Bebe for short. I am 7.5 years old, declawed on my front paws, and was rescued by my family when I was a tiny little kitten. Ever since I was rescued, I have been part of the exclusive "indoor cat club". Life was great until the folks had a baby four years ago Actually, life wasn’t too bad even with the kid – I’d lay right next to the baby during feeding time and get pet. Then we all moved to an apartment, and frankly, our quarters became too cramped for me. I didn’t even have a place to call my own. And just last month, the doctor just informed us that the kid is allergic to me! I’m a middle-of-the-road cuddler. I love to cuddle, but only when I want to. When I’m hanging out and looking really cute – well, that’s when I need my space. But when I come slinking over to you - usually when you are on the couch or in bed - then I love to be close and let you pet me. I really like laying on your lap or chest. I hear that I am very sweet, funny, and smart, too. I tell my folks that I want to eat by placing my paw on their arm while they are sitting at the computer. One thing that makes me feel good is that people ask my family how they hide the cat odor in our home. They do not have to do anything special – I just am a great smelling cat! My folks have struggled with this decision for a long time. I was their first "baby" and it’s hard for them to let go. When I hear them talking about finding a new home for me, I know it’s right. It’s not so much that I need a bigger place: I just need to be queen in my new home, where no one is sick because of me! So, even though we’ll all miss each other, we know that my best years will be spent at a new, wonderful, warm, and loving home.

My likes: A towel fresh from the dryer, watching birds through the windows (darn those screens!), sleeping in bed with my folks when it’s cold, hanging out in high places, snuggling on the couch, sleeping, grooming, lazing in the sunlight, eating, etc.

Dislikes: the vet, unpredictable kids - they move fast, and are rough, and that really scares me. The kid that lives with me has grown up understanding that he cannot pet me until the folks say it is okay, and that has worked out for all of us.

My needs: A loving home, dry food only, and in small increments.
