My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Casey was pulled from a high kill shelter just before he was scheduled to be euthanized. Casey looks like a dachshund mix, possibly with shepherd. He has a medium length coat, soft and silky! Casey is about 9-12 mos old and is full grown, weighing only about 27 lbs. He needs to gain some weight but will not grow any bigger.

Casey is wonderful with children, other dogs, and adults, but has not been tested with cats. Casey shows no food, toy, or treat aggression at all, and has passed strict temperament tests. Casey's small size makes him ideal for a smaller home or apartment. Casey is crate trained and likely housebroken, though a refresher may be necessary.

Casey is a great big ball of laughs wrapped up into a tiny body! He ADORES children and loves to play "boxing" with other dogs. He is happy, outgoing, personable, and there isn't a soul who meets him who does not like him. Casey keeps us all laughing on a regular basis with his HUGE personality in such a small body!

Casey is up to date on all shots and been dewormed. He will be neutered and microchipped prior to adoption!

The only thing known for sure about these rescued dogs is they were going to die Friday if no one saved them. Temperament testing is done both in NC and after transport to MD to ensure friendliness but no guarantees are made or implied about them as each home situation is different and it is impossible to test them against every kind of stimuli. Most shelter dogs will need basic training and a refresher in housebreaking. Interested adopters and fosters should contact Beata Kinsey (301) 219-2159 or email MJsAnimalSanctuary@gmail.com.
