Desi's Story...
Desi is a sweetie, loves a good belly rub and is getting along well with our other dogs. He was very accepting of his new living arrangement. Many of the dogs we have fostered have been sorta aloof for a day or even a week. Desi had none of that. It was like he had always been here as far as he was concerned.

Desi walks well on leash, knows most of the basic commands, but can't stay for anything. He is potty trained and respectful of the other dogs food bowls.

One issue has popped up; when he gets excited while playing ball he will run behind you and nip your heels. We are working on correcting this. Other than that he is a fun loving bundle of muscles, his energy level is boxer huge. Two 1 mile walks and 20-30 min of ball time and he still wants to be the energizer bunny.

So if you are looking for a fun loving, energetic boxer boy - Desi just might be the boxer for you. And one more thing - NO cats please and children over 8 would be best.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Desi, a Davis Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Davis, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Davis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Davis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Davis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Davis paves the way for another one to be saved.
