JJ's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

JJ's Story...
JJ came to us a few months ago. He is a good boy and is allowed to be loose in the house all the time. He does not crate fight with the other dogs. He does not like to be crated but will tolerate it for a period of time. He will try to get into the garbage on occasion and has a tendency to lick the front of the oven. :-) He is good with the cats and loves to lie on the bed. He has been fine with all the female dogs here but can occasionally have issues when first meeting dogs. He needs to learn how to walk well on lead as he will pull. JJ is 5 years old, neutered and up tp date on vaccinations. He is negative for heartworm and Lyme disease. He does have a slight overbite and that coupled with his loose lower lips makes him a drooler. His sweet, gentle nature and loving personality more than make up for his drooling though! He is good for grooming but does not like it if you pull on a mat. He was fine with getting his nails trimmed at the Vet. He has settled in nicely here and will need to be given some time to adjust when going to his new home. He was very stressed when he first came to us. I do not think he was exposed to many new and diverse situations while with his former owners and tends to get a bit stressed when out of his comfort zone. He does like to ride in the car however and is always ready to go for a ride. He's a big boy at about 120 lbs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

JJ, a Lehighton Great Pyrenees dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Pyrenees for sale in Lehighton, or seeking a Great Pyrenees dog from a breeder in Lehighton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lehighton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lehighton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Pyrenees breeders who help with Great Pyrenees rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lehighton paves the way for another one to be saved.
