My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Magic is an 18 month old solid black beauty that was surrendered to a shelter in August 2004 by her owners because she was 'too hyper' and 'ate too much'. (She was only 8 months old, still a growing puppy.) Magic had been kept on a chain to prevent her from jumping on their children. When taken into foster care, it was apparent that Magic had been hit to teach her right from wrong. She was very hand shy, unruly and craved attention. It took a couple of months to undo some of the damage of her former life and establish trust, but she has made wonderful progress. Magic is highly intelligent and picks up on obedience commands almost instantly although there is still room for improvement. She is very strong, has a high play drive and would probably make an excellent tracking dog. Magic likes other dogs, has a playful nature but often plays too rough. (This is another residual effect from the lack of socialization in her previous home). She is possessive of her toys and food and does not share well. She would probably do best in a home with a male dog that is similar in age, size and activity level. She is mildly curious about cats and would probably give chase if a cat ran. She is not recommended for a home with small children.

This dog is spayed, up to date on shots and HW free. Adoption application, home visit, and $200 adoption fee are required. Please read our adoption requirements on our home page.
