Tara's Story...
~ Like the legendary plantation, this Tara has survived some hard times. She was rescued from an abusive household by some wonderful people. Tara was kicked and beaten by one of the humans who were supposed to be caring for her.

She is about 6 years old and needs a loving home so she can learn that not all humans are bad people. Tara came to us heartworm positive but thanks to a generous sponsor she has been treated and is now heartworm free.

Tara responds well to women or soft spoken men. She is not recommended to a home with children. She is ok with most male dogs, but otherwise should be the other dog in the home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tara, a Pike Road German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Pike Road, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Pike Road.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pike Road already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pike Road breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pike Road paves the way for another one to be saved.
