Ruby's Info...

Ruby's Story...
Ruby is a beautiful basset lady who is six years old, spayed, up to date on her shots, microchipped, heartworm negative, and ready to find someone to love her.

Ruby joined the Helping Hands Basset Rescue family after the daughter in the family that owned her was diagnosed with cancer. The family moved closer to the center where their child was being treated and could not have Ruby at their new home.

Ruby's got a wonderful personality, and is full of love. When she was brought into a local animal shelter, her ears were so infected that they required an immediate cleaning to give her some relief from the pain. Ruby would quietly whimper while her ears were cleaned, and even with all the pain she gave the staff sweet kisses on the cheek. The shelter employees fell madly in love with Ruby! She is slightly overweight but aren't we all! The neighbor that brought her to the shelter said that she had spent all of her time outdoors but never barked or complained.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ruby, a Round Rock Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Round Rock, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Round Rock.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Round Rock already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Round Rock breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Round Rock paves the way for another one to be saved.
