Bacardi's Story...
I’m a cool dude named Bacardi. I was found as a stray and taken to the county pound. The folks there loved me so much that when my time was up, they couldn’t bear the thought of putting me to sleep. I know the workers were sad to see me go, but they wanted to ensure I’d get a second chance at life. So a nice lady gave me a ride to Friends of Homeless Animals. We had a great time together, and she said I was an excellent passenger in the car. I was very proud of myself. I like to show everyone what a good boy I am. I’m so well behaved that it’s obvious I had a good home at some point. I don’t remember what happened to my family, but I do remember some of the things they taught me—like how to walk like a gentleman on a leash, how to sit nicely on command, and that I’m supposed to go to the bathroom outside. Those kinds of things are easy to remember, especially when you’re trying to impress your new family. I’m a handsome boy who loves other dogs. My loving personality will quickly win your heart. (Please Note: I can only be adopted in the DC Metropolitan area. There will be no exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bacardi, a Aldie Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
