Claire's Story...
I’m a captivating canine named Claire. Curiously, I found myself out of time at the county pound. I say curiously because I’m such a sweet girl that it’s hard to imagine no one came to adopt me. Unfortunately, that’s the way it goes in rural counties. There just aren’t enough responsible, loving families in those areas to give us dogs a good home. I was frightened and sad to have been abandoned at the pound and very lonely, too. The workers there sure did love me, though. I was one of their favorites, so they made sure I found a safe place to go when my time ran out. I’ve quickly become a favorite here at FOHA, too. Being a great girl comes naturally to me. I’ve had fun playing with the other dogs and the volunteers, so I’m not lonely any more. I’m good in the car, and I walk nicely on a leash. I’m loving and eager to please, and I’m pretty cute too, heh? So what’s a super-terrific girl like me doing without a home? Well, why don’t you come on down here and make my dream of a new home a reality. APPLICATION PENDING!!! (Please Note: I can only be adopted in the DC Metropolitan area. There will be no exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Claire, a Aldie Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
