Gavin's Story...
Howdy folks, my name is Gavin. When a nice volunteer found me running loose in her neighborhood, I knew it was my lucky day. She brought me here to FOHA so I can find a new home. I don’t know how I ended up on my own, but I’m glad that’s over with. It’s kind of scary not knowing when you’ll get some fresh water or a meal again or if people are going to hurt you if you accidentally get in their way. I don’t know why anyone would want to hurt a great guy like me, though. I’m super friendly, I’m eager to please, and I love everyone I meet. I enjoy the company of other dogs, so if you’d like to take your new dog to the dog park, you should definitely choose me. I’m so grateful to have been rescued, and I’ll be even more grateful when a family comes along and says, “C’mon Gavin, we’re going home.” (Please Note: I can only be adopted in the DC Metropolitan area. There will be no exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gavin, a Aldie German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Aldie, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
