Big Boy's Story...

UPDATED 01/08/2010 I have found my furrever home!!!

UPDATED 01/07/2010 Hello, My name is Big Boy and I am still a pup at only a year old. I may be a tad over weight at 78 lbs. New pictures coming soon! I was never properly socialized and I am kind of spoiled so I will need someone that knows Bulldogs and understands our stubborn nature. Since I have not been socialized properly with other dogs it is taking me some time to get used to them. I don't think I am a dog but I am learning. I am only a year old so there is still hope for me though it will take someone with experience to work with me. In my new foster home I am learning to walk on leash without pulling, sit, and come. I was reported to have dog aggression; however, during my time with my current foster Mom and her "pack" I have been a very good boy with no shown issues at all. The hair on my back does not even stand up. I think I have gotten a bad rap because I am so big and intimidating to most people. I will continue my training here and hopefully be suitable for a home that has experience that can continue my training once adopted so that I don't scare everyone so easy. After all I am still a puppy at heart and mind in a 78 lb body! I just need continued supervised socialization which I am sure to get here. Until I am properly socialized and trained, a home without other dogs is recommended. I am not a big fan of cats, I have seen a few recently from the safety of my crate and I bark at them. They look to much like toys to chase so my new foster Mom is not taking any chances. I am just a big goofy lover with humans. I took right to my new Mom! All humans love me!

Due to my size and need of obedience training and manners I would not be suitable for homes with small children I can easily topple over. I am just a big goofy ham for attention, affection, and treats. It wont take much to turn me into an all around nice boy. I have been told I am absolutely stunning, with a very handsome coat. I am still growing into my Bulldog body and filling out very nicely. I have had my nose corrected so I don't snore or have breathing issues.

I have a class 3 out of 6 Heart Murmur. I have had chest radiographs and all checked out fine giving me a clear bill of health. I will need annual check ups to make sure I am still doing ok. I am completely house and crate trained (I have learned to ring a bell hanging on the door to let you know when I need out), up to date on all vaccinations, neutered with a healthy happy attitude and disposition around humans.

I will be ready for adoption once my new Mom assesses my personality and needs to thoroughly match me to a furrever family of my own. If you would like to fill out their online adoption application please scroll to the bottom of

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Big Boy, a Pearland English Bulldog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a English Bulldog for sale in Pearland, or seeking a English Bulldog puppy from a breeder in Pearland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pearland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pearland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even English Bulldog breeders who help with English Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pearland paves the way for another one to be saved.
