Copper-Permanent Resident's Story...
Update: Copper developed an infected cyst on his side which needed to be removed. He did not handle the surgery well - and is currently not doing very well. We are making every effort to help him. 9 year old Copper and his brother Samuel are looking for a home. Their owner became unable to care for them and was forced to give them up. These two dogs have been lovingly cared for in their past. They get along fine with each other - and we'd love to see them adopted together - however, we will consider a home with another dog for either of them. Copper is missing a front leg (we have no idea why or how), but gets along just fine. They are housebroken, gentle, and well mannered. A house with no steps and children over 10 would be best for him (and for Samuel). Both boys need to lose some weight. These are without a doubt two of the nicest bloodhounds we have ever had in rescue.

If you would like to offer Copper his forever home, please submit an application which you can download from our website ( Please email or mail it to us or, we no longer have access to a fax machine.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Copper-Permanent Resident, a Capon Bridge Bloodhound/Bloodhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bloodhound/Bloodhound for sale in Capon Bridge, or seeking a Bloodhound/Bloodhound dog from a breeder in Capon Bridge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Capon Bridge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Capon Bridge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bloodhound/Bloodhound breeders who help with Bloodhound/Bloodhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Capon Bridge paves the way for another one to be saved.
