Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Piper. She was rescued by one of Downtown Dog Rescue's volunteers from the San Bernardino City Shelter the day before she was scheduled to be euthanized, due to her time was up and no one came for her. Piper is very smart and is beginning to respond well to training. In fact, she learned very quickly the rescue's daily routine and is turning out to be one of the best dogs that have been at the rescue. The main reason she is considered one of the best is because Piper is a "pack stabilizer." She is so friendly to all dogs and people that she would make the BEST dog at dog park ever. Piper can run like the wind. She outruns every other dog at the rescue. She is learning to walk on a leash very well and stay more focused on the handler. With the proper training, Piper could definitely be an agility dog, learning agility skills that require her to jump high in the air. Piper is about age two and she is about 27 lbs. She has taller legs and is slightly larger than a pure border terrier. She has the appearance of a small coyote. Piper is very playful, dainty and sweet. She loves to play with the other dogs in the pack. She can be a bit jumpy, trying to get near her person, but is so dainty and light about her feet that it's really not menacing. Piper is always getting passed over on the website for the "cuter and more colorful" dogs. But this rescuer thinks Piper is WAY cute. She is truly a must see and a must meet. Piper is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. She is a terrier more than anything else, and she is best placed in a home with a yard and another dog that she can run around with.
