My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

These lovely young cats have been the light of their "mom's" life - unfortunately, because of her work travel commitments, she is regretfully looking for a new home that can give them the time and attention they deserve. Here's how she describes Fisher and Desi:

"Two cats, Fisher and Desi, best of friends! Fisher is the chubby black cat, approximately 3-4 years old and Desi (Desdemona) is the skinny calico, approximately 2-3 years old. They are both short haired.

We adopted Fisher about 3 years ago and he was an extremely shy and cautious kitty. It took him a few days to come out from under the bed to explore his surroundings, but after that became insanely playful and loveable. He still is not the most outgoing of the two, often stays to himself, observing the rest of the room. He loves squeaky mice and any kind of feather on the end of a string can provide him hours of fun.

We adopted Desi about a year after we got Fisher to give Fisher a friend. Desi had no trouble immediately exploring her surroundings - she is much more outgoing and adventurous, and will not hesitate to climb up your shoulder and nuzzle her face to yours. She loves laser pointers, and can jump a good 5 feet in the air if teased properly with a feather toy.

The two were not immediately best friends (there was some hissing when we first introduced), but after only 2 days they had warmed up to each other and we found them snuggling on the couch together. Since then they are inseparable. They chase, they groom each other, they play, and they cuddle and sleep together. It's endlessly cute. I would hope that whoever gets these cats would never separate them as I think they've formed a strong bond. If whoever adopts them at any point decides they can't take care of them anymore, I would prefer that they call me and give them back to me before ever separating these two great friends.

I'd also hope that they would never be declawed. We worked hard to teach them to never claw the furniture. They are both extremely disciplined at kneading their paws on their cat trees or scratching posts instead of the furniture. To me, declawing cats is inhumane, and it's for that reason that we worked so hard to teach them where and when they could have fun with their claws.

They are both fixed, up to date on all of their shots (rabies, etc) and have regular visits to the vet. They are both in good health."
