Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Barack, formerly known as Teddy, was adopted from us some months ago but his family has decided they can no longer manage him. He is still the people loving, affectionate, playful dog we knew before. And he still remembers some of the obedience training he learnt while at the shelter; he sits, takes treats with a soft mouth and wants to engage the handlers with toys but will take them to bed when left to himself. Barack does have high energy and he needs to practice self-control and obedience but he is very people oriented and desperate to please so will make a great student for someone willing to put in the initial effort. At three years old Barack is a full grown, medium sized dog weighing a healthy 58lbs. He is looking for a home without small children at least until he has been shown what good doggy manners are and how to keep his four paws on the ground.
Please call the shelter 516-944-8220 during working hours (Mon. to Fri. 9AM-4PM; Sat. 10-4PM) for more information about Barack, the adoption process at the shelter, and to confirm availability. Please go to www.theshelterconnection.com for more information about and directions to the shelter.
