Lava's Info...

Lava's Story...
My name is Lava and I'm a really handsome young black shorthaired male, front-declawed, 2 years old, and about 10 lbs. As you can sort of see from my pictures, I have big, round amber eyes, that are rather striking - but you have to see me in person to really appreciate the contrast of my eyes against my lush, sleek, soft coat.

My foster mom says there should be a picture of me in the dictionary next to the word "lapcat" (isn't that 2 words?). She thinks I will make someone very happy who wants a kitty who will stick around for petting and to cuddle with at night. I don't mind other cats or dogs, and my foster mom thinks I'll be just fine with children who are nice to cats. So, what's this business about black cats taking longer to get adopted? That's Crazy! Don't people know how handsome, striking and uber-friendly we are? Come adopt me and I will so enhance your life (and I'll make your decor pop with a feline accent :-)

Lava's adoption fee of $130 includes: vet exam, Feline Leukemia test, FIV test, FVRCP vaccination, rabies vaccination, fecal exam & deworming, microchip and neutering. Lava is also 2-paw declawed.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lava, a Mt. Prospect Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Mt. Prospect, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Mt. Prospect.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mt. Prospect already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mt. Prospect breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mt. Prospect paves the way for another one to be saved.
