Kobe is a beautiful brindle boxer boy. He has the best soulful boxer eyes. Looking into Kobe's eyes, you can see uncertainty and a need for love and acceptance. Kobe is going to need some work. He needs some obedience, some confidence and some help. Kobe is going to need a confident owner that is familiar with the boxer breed.

Kobe has not been well socialized. He is scared in new situations and nervous when he isn't in a familiar setting.

Kobe is terrified in the kennel. He really needs a foster home and some help. Kobe was relinquished to the shelter by his owner. His owner had him off leash in the garage. A dog walked past Kobe's house on a leash. Kobe ran out of the garage and grabbed the small dog, breaking the dog's leg. Kobe had never showed any previous aggression.

Kobe is now in a cage free environment with between 5 and 10 different dogs a day. He has shown no aggression in his new environment. He has shown nervousness and fear. He panicked when he was presented with a crate. He freaked out and ran as far away from the crate as he could get.

Puppies under 6 months old: $250

Dogs and Puppies over 6 months old: $200

Boxers and Buddies is operated 100% by the help of volunteers. The volunteers spend their spare time helping dogs in need find new homes. Our volunteers have families, jobs, and dogs on their own that keep them very busy. They help when they can, so please be patient with our volunteers. If we don't get back to you in a timely fashion, don't hesitate to send a reminder email our way and we'll do what we can to get back to you. We do not have a 'shelter'. All dogs in need of homes are either in their surrendering home, a foster home, or at a boarding facility. As much as we want the dogs in rescue to be rehomed as quickly as possible, we all have time and area constraints that can sometimes slow the process down. Please know that we take rehoming dogs very seriously and want to make sure all of the dogs we place go to the right families. That can take time, so again, please be patient.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kobe, a Reno Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Reno, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Reno.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Reno already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Reno breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Reno paves the way for another one to be saved.
