Mercy's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Mercy's Story...
I was quiet and shy when I was first rescued because I was kept in a small backyard kennel for my entire life. I now am in a foster home in Dallas with three other dogs and a cat. Boy my foster brother and sisters (the dogs) are lots of fun to play with. I can not get enough. When I first got to my foster home I was a bit jumpy but now I fit right in. I am eating really good and the cat even comes over to check me out. What a neat place. But I will tell ya, I would love a place of my own with a big yard and a big brother or sister to play with. I crate well and walk quietly on a leash. I am a fun loving and energetic at three years old. I am sure that I can make any home a happier place.

Note: I like to play rough with my foster family. I would not do well with a small dog. But give me a brother or sister my size and I will fit right in.

**Mercedes is currently being fostered in Dallas.**

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mercy, a Houston Shar Pei dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shar Pei for sale in Houston, or seeking a Shar Pei dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shar Pei breeders who help with Shar Pei rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
