Keats's Story...
Don't I look handsome in my tuxedo? I am Keats, a 18 month old Lab mix wearing a beautiful sleek and shiny black and white coat of fur. I have had a lot of training, I know all my commands really well! My favorite games are acting real tough when Im on lead or behind a fence. I do great with other dogs but will need an experienced dog person if you want me to live with a cat. I do well around older children, am housebroken and fully crate trained too. I just cant wait to find an indoor home with a loving family to call my own. 18 months old- 55lbs. My adoption fee is $150.00 and includes adoption supplies.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Keats, a Portland Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Portland, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
