Ben & Jerry's Story...
It was one hot day and we were really scared trying to dodge cars where we were dropped off on a dirt road. We had been neglected and abandoned at 9 months old. People just drove by us, but one nice lady stopped and picked us up. We got in the car and fell asleep immediately for an entire hour. We we woke up, we got very sick and threw up the wood mulch we had eaten to fill our empty tummies. We were taken to the vet where we were given fluids for our dehydrated bodies, food, shots and were neutered. We are doing so much better now at 11 months old and we have food, water and medical treatment with our foster mom, but we long to be a part of a loving family. We need to stay together because we brothers love each other and spend every moment together. We need a fenced in yard and some dog training classes, but are extremely loving and aim to please. Please call our foster mom, Amy, at 703-509-8678 for more information. (Please Note: We can only be adopted in the DC Metropolitan area. There will be no exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ben & Jerry, a Aldie Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
