My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Little Nala hasn't had the best of luck in her short life. She was born in Feb. of 2004 and was adopted by a family in West TX who treated her more like a lawn ornament than a member of the family. Nala spent all her time by herself in the backyard. While she was still just a puppy, Nala's family thought it would be a great idea to let her have "just one litter of puppies". Once the puppies arrived, Nala was forgotten about. The family decided they wanted to keep one of the puppies. If that wasn't bad enough, the family was in the process of a move and they asked a neighbor if he would keep an eye on Nala in the back yard for a few days and they would come back for her. That day, of course, never came. The family had no intention of returning for Nala. So - this little girl found herself in quite a pickle. Luckily, the neighbor intervened and, through a network of caring people, Nala made her way to Tassie's Hope. She arrived on 8/10/05 - underweight and not in the best of health, but her spirit and loving personality was firmly intact. Nala was clearly happy that somebody - finally - truly loved and cared about her. Nala has since been spayed, fully vaccinated, wormed, heartworm-tested and is on the road to recovery. She has started monthly heartworm prevention and flea control. We're in the process of making up for lost time in the pampering department with Nala. This sweetie deserves a permanent home where she will always be loved, where she can live indoors with her people and truly be a member of the family. Since Nala is so tiny and delicate, she would do best in a calm home environment.
