My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

11/19/10 - I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!

Adoption Fee: $450

Fostered in Oklahoma

Age: 3 years

Weight: 7 lbs.

ADOPTION APPLICATION REQUIRED.
Visit www.YorkieHavenRescue.com to apply.

8/30/10 - Hi Everyone. Foster mom said that it was about time for us to update our bios to let everyone know how we were doing and how our personalities have blossomed. I am still more timid than Sophie Kate, but I am more playful. I am extremely affectionate, but not clingy. I love sleeping in the human bed with foster mom, but I tend to get a little crowded in the middle of the night with all the other pups in the bed and go down the steps and end up sleeping in one of the many dog beds strategically placed in the master bedroom.

I really enjoy walking in the neighborhood on my leash with foster mom and I am very good at it if I must say so myself.

Potty training is a work in progress but progress is definitely being made! I will use pads in the house but prefer to go outside. I am fairly consistent with my "time of day" so it should be easy for a attentive owner to get me on schedule.

My appetite is healthy for life and food now that I have learned that people aren’t the enemy.

I’ve been checking the applications daily and haven’t really seen any for me. Well, not that I care, but the most perfect home better come along soon, or foster mom will wind up wanting to give us her last name. She tells me all the time how much she loves me, so you better hurry.

2/11/10 - My previous owners totally underestimated me. They underestimated my will to live, my strength to love and my determination to be happy. Since they did not want me any longer, they just dropped me (and my friend and possible mother, Sophie Kate), off at the nearest high kill animal control one cold evening. Since the shelter was closed and they didn’t feel like coming back the next day, they conveniently tied us up outside with not as much as a kiss on the cheek. If not for our foster mom who came to our rescue and pulled us from animal control to foster, we might not be alive today.

I’m a social butterfly who is very affectionate and loves to be held and petted, but also have my independent side with spunk and curiosity. I get along with the other pups in my foster home and my favorite games to play are “tug-o-war” and “chase the other four-leggers with toys”.

I’m getting used to this bath thing and liking it. It feels so good and I’m even a perfect lady when being blow-dried.

Everyone has something they are good at, and mine is climbing. So if you are thinking of baby-gate, think again because I’ll be over that thing in seconds. This is where my independent side comes out in that I’m going to be where I want to be when I want to be there. Don’t take this as unruly, just cute with a mind of my own.

As far as my previous owners go, don’t worry, I know where you live and just as soon as I get adopted, have a last name and permanent family, we’ll drive by your house with the windows down, the wind blowing in our hair and smiles on our faces yelling, “Eat your heart out - oh, that’s right, you have no heart.”
