Oscar's Story...
Hi! My name is Oscar and I have just arrived from LA on January 26th, 2010! I am a Lhasa Apso x who is about 1-year-old and approximately 15 lbs. I am a very sweet boy and have a great personality. I can be very timid and easily startled, so I would likely do best in a home without small children. I'm also still getting used to the leash, and get really scared when you go to grab my neck and might let out a cry if you do it quickly without warning. But I'm not at all aggressive, I am very submissive so just need someone to be gentle with me. I am great at night time - I sleep all night if I am allowed to sleep in your room (I'm happy sleeping on a bed on the floor if you prefer). I am great with other dogs, and I really like my foster brother, Charlie (also a Lhasa cross) and I am also great with cats (I don't have much interest in them). I love to cuddle and I'll sneak into your lap first chance I get, once I get to know you of course. I will need a very patient family that is willing to work with me to help build trust, but once I get to know you I am a big snuggly guy with lots of love to give!

Please note that Little Mutts Rescue adoption fees are generally $400 for adults, and $450 for puppies. Includes spay / neuter, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchip, and a vet certificate of health (please note that if puppies are born in Calgary, we do not have a vet certificate to provide). If you are interested, please submit an adoption application -

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oscar, a Calgary Lhasa Apso dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Lhasa Apso for sale in Calgary, or seeking a Lhasa Apso dog from a breeder in Calgary.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Calgary already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Calgary breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Lhasa Apso breeders who help with Lhasa Apso rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Calgary paves the way for another one to be saved.
