My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

1/18/10 Lulu is in Maine and what a doll she is! She looks like a mini golden retriever!. She is fine with other dogs and loves to play and snuggle- here is an update from her foster mom after a quick check up at the vet..."Her heart is good and so is everything else. The only problem is that she weighs 21 lbs and would be much better between 17 and 18 lbs. She is eating well. She has had two accidents in the house but both were from confusion on my part - not hers. She goes outside and goes right to her spot and does what she has to. She gets along well with other dogs and people so far. She is a sweetie. She is murder on plastic squeaker toys!! Loves rawhide chews. LOVES tennis balls. I roll them down the hall and she runs and brings them back. When she picks up the tennis ball all you can see is the ball-no face-it is hysterical. She has a good temperament, does not bark obsessively-I have only heard her bark once. " Lulu is not a typical small dog- she is quiet and not a barker at all! Lulu was rescued from a city pound in the south. The vet says she is about 8 years old, and was brought in by an owner who said they couldn't afford to feed her and their other dogs any more. Can you imagine living 8 years with a family and then going to a pound? Lulu is very sweet and calm. She really steals the heart of everyone she meets. She has been spayed and fully vaccinated. She came to us with heartworms, but has recently completed treatment and is doing so well. She comes with a veterinarian certificate stating she's been treated. She's also being housetrained now, as she was an "outside" dog full-time before we rescued her. Lulu may be an older dog, but she still deserves a great home. She could live many, many more years! Her age can be a definite plus, she's calmer and more laid back than younger dogs. She was so pitiful when she came in, and literally looks like a different dog now! Can someone give this lovely senior a great home? If you are interested in adopting Lulu, please email us for an application. Please be sure to reference "Lulu 2" when you write to us.
