Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gypsy is a gorgeous, high-energy, athletic, people and dog-friendly 55-pound, two-year-old, female, red with white, Shar Pei/Pit Bull Terrier-mix looking for a loving home. This beautiful, sweet, and sleek muscle-girl was found as a stray in Quincy, Illinois. She is a sweetheart of a dog who just adores people and loves to play with other dogs. She loves cuddling on the couch and in bed; she gives kisses and is a great bed warmer. Gypsy would do well with another dog in the home. But, she would do well as the only dog too.
She is currently living in a foster home with a female Rottweiler-mix and they get along famously. She is perfectly housebroken and crate-trained. She is crated when her foster mom goes out as she still likes to chew. Gypsy is very attentive and well-trained in the commands sit, down, and wait. She even lets her foster mom brush her teeth every day. She is still working diligently with a trainer to overcome reactivity when on leash. She loves to learn, and would even make a wonderful agility dog. She is phenomenal with other dogs off leash and even goes to doggie daycare to play with her canine friends. Gypsy would love to live with a dog-lover with a fenced-in yard to play fetch and run with another dog. She'd do best with a family with older children and adults without cats in the home.
She is very healthy, spayed, heartworm-tested, micro-chipped, and up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines. To meet and possibly adopt Gypsy, please contact Stacy at stacyweinstein@hotmail.com or 312-590-4135. Gypsy's adoption fee of $200 benefits rescued pets.
